Professional Development Opportunities
Professional Learning for Teams (OH-AiPL)
A two-year professional learning program for vertical teams (i.e., ad hoc teams composed of members from a district’s central office and from one school in the district that serves as an incubator) to examine, refine, and improve building leadership team (BLT) strategies for engaging all students in learning. Vertical teams do not exist beyond the professional learning experience. Instead, lessons learned by the vertical team are incorporated into existing leadership team structures (district leadership teams, building leadership teams, teacher-based teams) for use across the district.
Ohio Leadership for Inclusion, Implementation, & Instructional Improvement (OLi4)
A two-year professional learning program that builds the capacity of school principals and assistant principals to improve results for all students, including those from marginalized groups (e.g., students with disabilities, students living in poverty, students with learning difficulties) through the development of instructional leadership capacity.
Professional Learning for Central Office Personnel (COIIL)
This Professional Learning Series helps Central Office Personnel and Principal Supervisors to learn and apply inclusive instructional leadership practices through a 10-month sequence of targeted, practical learning opportunities and coaching support. It strengthens the use of existing structures (e.g., OIP leadership teams) to examine, refine, extend, and support achievement of district priorities around teaching and learning.
The Coaching Center engages educators in practical activities to develop their foundational coaching skills in areas such as building trust and relationships, using effective communication, and supporting the right work. Customized additions to foundational coaching (e.g., equity literacy, process coaching, cognitive coaching, instructional coaching technology applications for coaching) can be added based on the needs of particular target audiences.
